Sometimes people show up to engagement shoots or weddings nervous for their picture being taken. They haven’t been in front of a camera in years and definitely never with their fiancé. No one wants to look stiff, uncomfortable or have fake smiles plastered on their faces…at least I know I sure don’t! There are a lot of rules with how to pose someone to look their best. Pat and I know what they are and Pat and I know when to toss the rules out of the window. That’s usually when genuine emotion comes through that shows real smiles, laughter and connection. So, how do you get yourself to feel natural in front of a camera? Bottom line, it’s not [Read More…]
What can I say about Carly & Vinnie? They may in fact be the cutest couple on the face of the planet and hilarious to boot. As we took pictures in their home and in Forest Park, we laughed for 2 hours straight about anything and everything. Pat and I walked away from that session and wondered if we just did any work. We got home and looked at the pictures and I swooned…yes, swooned! We all know I love natural pictures and they just got each other laughing so much that they look so happy together. These two are perfect for each other. After being friends for years in high school, they finally got together a couple years after [Read More…]
When Dawn suggested doing their engagement photos at Lighthouse Point in New Haven, CT, Pat and I were really excited. Not only is it beautiful, but that’s also where Jason proposed to her so it had special meaning to both of them. Jason had another location in mind to propose but plans kept getting foiled that day so they ended up here. I’d say it definitely worked in their favor; it’s the perfect backdrop for pictures. They are getting married this August at Mill 1 in Holyoke, MA and I’m really looking forward to photograph this wedding. First and foremost because they both know how to have a good time so I know the wedding is going to be so [Read More…]
It’s Video Monday! Yeah, I just made that up on the spot. Creative huh? In this one I’m talking about why we think every couple, if possible, should do an engagement session. I flubbed in the beginning of the video and said this was about the importance of an engagement location but you guys know what I mean! Warning: I think I’m hilarious. I tell people I’m the funniest person I know and everyone just shakes their head in disbelief that I’m that delusional. I literally laugh at myself like this all day every day….no joke. Pat even added in some “bloopers” at the very end. If you don’t want to be friends with me after this anymore, I understand.
We took Kristy & Justin’s engagement pictures last weekend and thankfully it ended up being the perfect day. As soon as we left Stanley Park, the rain drops started falling. I’d like to say it was all of our amazing planning but I think we were just that lucky! After 7 years of being together, they are getting married in just 2 weeks! Pat and I can’t wait for their wedding! Not only because it’s my birthday that day (woo hoo!) but because these two are beyond nice and easy to get along with. We had an amazing time getting to know them while taking their photos. You can tell they are very much in love and according to Kristy, [Read More…]
We’re back in business and wedding season is here! We have lots of engagements/weddings coming up over the next few months and we’re both really excited to have the camera in our hands again. The winter break of weddings was nice since we got to concentrate on our own but I was itching to get out there again and start snapping away, which we got to do this weekend. It was awesome to get the creative juices flowing again after a few months of hibernation….good ole New England winter; it’ll get ya every time! Our to-do list for the business is growing every time we blink so things are about to get a little crazy. Especially since our wedding is [Read More…]
Woot woot, I got the guts to do a second video! This time I’m talking about how to choose an engagement shoot location. Now that’s spring time, everyone is thinking about where and how they’ll choose a location and sometimes it can be hard to choose. I hope these tips help out! Click here if the video doesn’t load.
I decided to pick our top 11 photos we took in 2011 and lemme tell ya, this is HARD! I have so many photos hat I just love love love but I somehow narrowed is down to 11. I’m cheating a little and using a couple diptychs (2 pictures side by side) but it’s what i already had put together and they fit together nicely. 🙂 This is Pat’s favorite photo since it is a groom in his military uniform and we all know how much Pat loves the military. Can we say work it? This one is just cute to me. This is the bride and grooms daughter trailing her mom and dad walking away. She just kept [Read More…]
Jen and Mike refer to themselves as homebodies. Not that they don’t love to do things but they prefer the company of each other. I can completely relate to this feeling. They are both really mellow, love the outdoors and compliment each other’s easy going personalities. It only made sense that Mike asked Jen to marry him in the comfort of their own home. It seems exactly like their style; no big to do with fireworks and airplanes writing “will you marry me” in the sky. All they need is the love for each other to be content and know they want to spend the rest of their lives together. They are getting married next November at the Red Barn [Read More…]
Well, it’s officially that time of year where I realize I haven’t given the holiday season a second thought…even a first thought to be honest. Every year I swear that I will have shopping done before the malls get filled with people who will shank you to get the latest and greatest toy when all I’m trying to do is buy Pat a new pair of socks at Target. Sound like a dumb gift? You haven’t seen this boys socks. I have a lot of friends who will be battling the crowds at midnight on Black Friday. The only battling I plan on going through Friday morning is with my own mind to get out of my bed 5 minutes [Read More…]
