We officially have a little over a week until we move in with my parents for the next 6 months. Joy! We have been slowing packing everything away and getting things ready. Last night we moved most of our furniture that we won’t need in to another pod. Seeing the house pretty empty made me realize that we won’t be calling this place home very soon. I got a little sad to be honest. Even though we are SO ready to move, it’s still been a good home to us over the years. Sure, I may not miss sharing the world’s smallest bathroom and elbowing Pat in the stomach when I’m brushing my teeth. I also won’t miss our neighbor that creeps in the shadows and stares at us hard every time we step foot outside! We did have a lot of good memories there though. The good definitely outweighs the bad.
So far on the new home, we have plans for the outside of the house and are working on the inside layout next. Oh, and Pat’s been working like crazy and building a camera to be at the construction site. It will end up filming a time-lapse of the entire house being built from start to finish. Of course it’s not just a normal camera but one that requires a car battery and a solar panel hookup… Yes, that’s my husband. Nothing is ever simple with this guy! Of course I laugh at him and his nerdy ways but in the end, you know I’ll be the first one saying how cool of a video it is! That’s pretty much our relationship in a nutshell right there.
We’ll see how we do next week. I have a feeling tears will be flowing when we close that door for the last time. It will all be for the better though!
Here’s our new house on paper. I can’t wait to see it actually done!
