I really love wedding photography. A few years ago, we began to think about starting a business. Being my typical self, I thought there was no way it would ever work out for us! But something made me keep going and I began to learn everything under the sun about what it take to photograph a wedding. Looking back, I have to say I’m actually really proud of us. Pat never gives up when it comes to something he wants but I usually convince myself that I can’t do something. I talk myself out of everything out of my comfort zone! Let me tell you, this business couldn’t be anymore of out my comfort zone than anything in this world! I would have rather bunjee jumped off the tallest building in the world than do this. Have I ever mentioned on this blog how much I HATE heights??? Yeah, I’m the girl who white knuckles Pat’s arm while we’re on top of a mountain….while he laughs at me. I would have done that 10 times over than think of being a business owner who has to put myself out there constantly.
I’m so glad I ignored the voice in my head (who still creeps in once in awhile) and took a chance. The experiences, friends and knowledge I’ve gained over these past 3 years has been some of the best times in my life. Seriously. Doing this has made me gain more self confidence and fulfilled the creative side of me that I wasn’t able to fulfill anywhere else. I love seeing how we’ve evolved over time and can’t wait to see where we’ll be in the future.
This weekend we got to photograph the gorgeous wedding of Kim & Jamaal. Working with couples like these is the exact reason why Pat and I love being in this business. I can’t wait to share more of these soon!!!
