At the last wedding we photographed I noticed something very strange. Pat was in the middle of the dance floor taking photos of people dancing and I noticed a little extra flair in his shooting technique. My jaw dropped!
It went a little something like this:
- Setup shot
- Take a bunch of pictures
- Throw your leg out to the beat like you’re Michael Jackson
I couldn’t believe my eyes. Is this the same Pat O’Brien I once knew to never be caught dead moon walking beside me on a regular basis? Something is different about him and I can pinpoint the moment this shift occurred.
I begged him for a year and a half before our wedding to get out there and have fun because he’s usually just laughing on the sidelines at everyone else. He adamantly said no. All that changed. Apparently, all I ever needed to do was put some sunglasses with a mustache on this man and he’s a whole different person. You’ll catch him Gangham Styling like you’ve never seen.
This wedding was different though. He had no sunnies on so I was beyond confused. I asked him what his deal was and he said, “I’m just having fun! I don’t care what other people think anymore”.
Ladies and gentlemen, my job here is done.
