Whew, people aren’t kidding when they say your wedding day is a whirlwind and you don’t have time to soak it all in! We had such an amazing day though; it couldn’t have gone any better.
The night before I was SO nervous, I could barely even eat dinner. I just had so many butterflies in my stomach I thought I was down for the count. I definitely thought I’d wake up feeling the same way but I actually felt pretty calm. It didn’t seem like it was really all happening that day. Even when I was getting my hair and makeup done, all was well….and then I got Pat’s gift to me and it all hit me and I was suddenly so nervous again!!!
Thankfully, Pat and I were doing a First Look so we saw each other before the ceremony. After I saw him, I felt completely relaxed and just excited again. A lot of brides have concerns that seeing each other before the ceremony, takes away your moment while walking down the aisle. I even had those thoughts cross my mind a few times but I can tell you, for us, that wasn’t the case. As soon as we all lined up to go down the aisle and the music started playing, it was all I could do to stop the tears from flowing. I turned to my dad and said, ”Oh god, I’m gonna cry”. And I did…and they didn’t stop…all ceremony. I was crying, Pat was crying, I looked out to everyone and they were all wiping away tears. I never expected that for one second. Especially from Pat!! He’s Mr. Non-emotional.
During the reception, I stepped out for a few minutes before the dancing started and while I was walking back, the dance floor had opened up….it was the first song the DJ dropped and the floor was packed. My maid-of-honor and I stopped at the top of the hill, looked down to the tent and she said, “take a minute and let this in, this is your wedding!”. I responded that it sure looked like it; people were doing the funky chicken all over the place…just like I always dreamed of!
I could go on and on about our day so I think I’ll make a few different segments from here about my experience as a bride. My biggest piece of advice for anyone getting married: hire people you like and trust that they are doing the best job possible. All of our vendors were amazing and I didn’t worry about anything they were doing once.
Here is who we hired and loved each and every one of them:

Next, we have to go through all of our honeymoon pictures and put them up but first we’re playing catch up with all of our clients! We have a couple weddings and engagement posts coming up!
I’m using some of Deborah’s photos of our wedding to put on here for everyone to see but if you want to see more, check out her entire blog post here with so many more pictures. I love them all!!
