I’m working on a new project. Yup, they never end in the O’Brien/Faux’Brien household! For the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking about setting up an area in our house to hold consultations with couples. We were always hesitant on the past because our house is not a mansion. But we’ve put so much work into making it really cute and homey feeling. There was one thing standing in my way of wanting to invite people over, quite literally.
A giant black recliner.
Men, I understand your love of the recliner. They are comfortable, you can kick back and watch the game…and maybe even take a lil nappy. But when you only have so much space in an area, it’s time to move on and put it somewhere else. So I convinced Pat to go to Home Goods. My favorite place! We were on a mission for a smaller chair that is more inviting than a giant leather chair the size of Texas when you walk in the room. Luckily, we found one that complimented our couch perfectly and made the room feel more open. That’s what I’m talkin’ about!
Now we’re just waiting to get some canvases delivered to display some of our work. I bought the letters OB to hang up for O’Brien Photo, displayed our logo in a frame, bought some wedding magazines and bought a new coffee machine to sip on some goodness with our couples. We’re also putting Pat’s giant flat screen to good use to use it as a running slideshow during the consultation. We were meeting with people at coffee shops and there wasn’t anything wrong with it, I just think we can provide a better experience in our own home. It’s more personal and we don’t have to yell over a crowd. Plus, our dog Kali is the best greeter this side of the Mississippi!
Here’s a snippet of our start of our living room redo. Ahhh, I love the sound of that! If I could makeover a room on a weekly basis, I truly would! I’ll post more pictures when everything is put together!
Leave some love:
