Last weekend we got to take some time off and went to Mike’s Corn Maze in Sunderland, MA. We went with my rental unit (my parents) and a couple of our friends, Thom and Heather, who have the cutest baby in all the land…besides your baby if you’re reading this and happen to have one!
Pat and I were getting ready to leave and he handed me a walkie talkie. All I said was, “Oh god, here we go”! It’s not a fun day out without some sort of technology strapped to us at all moments of the day. You guys think I’m kidding, I’m not!
As we strolled through the cornfield and my back pocket kept talking because SOMEONE couldn’t handle not playing “Over and Out” when they stood 3 feet in front of me. And by someone, I mean my friend Heather. Girl, you so cray-cray!
We made our way through the “maze”, rooted for our men as they shot potatoes out of a canon and ate mildly warm corn chowder on a cool, crisp fall day. Unfortunately Thom had to go DJ a wedding (plug!) so they left us but the rest of us went on a haunted hayride. Let me tell you, I either seriously grew up since the last time I was on it 2 years ago or that hayride went down about 25 notches on the scare-o-meter! Not as scary as I remember. In fact, the worst thing that happened was a rope hitting me in my eye and a half working terminator robot. I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say it’s got nothing on the O’Brien Haunted Garage!
