One of the biggest helps we’ve come up with regarding wedding photography has been our Client Questionnaires. It’s basically a worksheet that lays out an entire wedding day and where Pat and I need to be and when. It has everything from the addresses of where the couple is getting ready to what time to cake will be cut. It lays out what type of family portraits the couple is looking for and if any special things will be happening throughout the day; like a confetti toss or a grand exit. We also ask for other vendor’s information so we can follow up with them after the wedding and send them any pictures we have of them or their work. It’s a great way to network and build relationships in the business.
We always give these out with our information packets at our initial consultations. We know they won’t really be thinking about it until a couple months before the wedding, but it’s good to have out there and in their minds. There’s so much chaos on a wedding day, I know I for one need a distinct plan in my head. I actually plan for my plans because I wig myself out so much. I hate not knowing where I need to be and when. I’m actually going to look at this when planning out my own wedding day.
If you are a photographer or even a bride and need something like this to help plan, feel free to email us and we’ll send you a copy.
Happy Wednesday!
