We’ve officially booked our wedding venue. Pat and I will be getting married at the Publick House in Sturbridge, MA on September, 22, 2012. It is a classic New England venue; old, historic and full of charm. I knew this would be the place we would end up at once we stepped foot on the property. I’m a take it or leave it kind of girl. I know what I like and I definitely know what I don’t like. There really wasn’t any need to look further after we went there. Plus, they gave us homemade sticky buns as a thank you for visiting gift. How can a girl say no to warm, sticky buns?! Impossible!
We opted out of having our reception indoors and decided to have everything outside. Well, tented outside; which is precisely why we chose the 3rd week in September. The cool air just starts to come in so it’s not too cold or too hot. I refuse to be the sweaty bride and I also refuse to be the bride who needs a fur lined Eskimo jacket…although I do look cute in a hoodie.
The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are all in the same area. And really, there’s a little red barn which acts as a bar. Coming from a girl who grew up taking trips to Nowhereville Vermont on a regular basis, this is amazing. They also have rooms on site and a bakery to make our wedding cake. I like one stop shopping obviously.

Next up, our theme. Of course I need a theme, my life is a theme! I’ve been working on this with all of my amazing friends help. I’m tying this in with our honeymoon, which I don’t want to say yet because I’m crazy and think it will jinx us from going. I’ll blog about this another time. 🙂
