A couple months back I posted my workout promise to myself on my old blog and told everyone I would keep them up to date. Since then, I’ve abandoned that blog to focus on this one. I’ll give a little background for the new readers to this blog.
Back in January of 2009, I was at my unhealthiest and started gaining weight like cra-zay. What can I say? I loved ice cream, and I still do. I did what everybody else does and made a new years resolution to slim down and healthy up. I’ve never made a resolution that stuck so I expected to keep up that same routine. Well, for some reason, this one stuck for years now and I lost 35 pounds. But recently I can feel that I’ve gained some weight back. How much? I don’t know, I refuse to step on the scale and face reality but I’m guessing 8 pounds. What a random number!
I changed my lifestyle back in 2009 but I kind of fell off of it over the past few months. Not terribly, just eating more than I normally do and definitely not working out like I used to. I was running 5 miles a day and going to the gym like whoa. We recently bought an elliptical for the house so I’ve been working on that every night. Have I lost weight? I don’t know, the scale laughs at me when I look at it. Maybe I’ll take the plunge tomorrow morning and step on it and then sulk in the corner for most of the day.
I’ll be making weekly updates on my progress, meaning pounds lost and gained because I need to hold myself accountable and what better way to do it than let all of the interwebs see what I’m doing? Oh boy…

This summer, hiking the Grand Tetons with my camera bag strapped to my back of course! That counts as lifting weights, right?
