As you all know from my previous post, I was really excited to buy a real tree this year. This weekend, Pat brought out his manliness and decided if we were going to get one, he’d be the one to chop it down. Off we went into the bitter cold with saw in hand and our dog Kali by our side. Oh, and I brought my camera of course. I had to document my modern day Paul Bunyan in action. We scoured field after field and looked for the perfect but not too big because our house is small tree. After an hour and a half of looking and my feet feeling like they no longer existed, we found our perfect tree…already cut. We had to lug it 5 feet to the car… Hey, there’s always next year! I’ll pull out my flannel so I’m really in the mood to get down to tree business.
Here’s Pat on our tractor ride, ready to pull out his big guns!
We let Kali off of her leash to run. She hasn’t moved since we got home.
Me with my “puppy”. Just two girls letting the guy in their life feel like a manly man. Mainly, I was waiting to find some heat.
I think that’s a weed you’re looking at Pat…
The first ornament hung…Target special!
Last but not least, Pat’s favorite ornament from childhood, an Elf fixing a Christmas light. He seriously gets giddy when he sees this every year.
