The Highs and Lows of Wedding Planning

When it comes to planning this wedding, I’m finding it’s either all or nothing. Meaning, sometimes I don’t think about planning for two or three weeks and sometimes it’s out of control with the amount of things I need to do.

Right now I’m on the high point. I’ve picked out invitations last week, my dress came in and I’m seeing it this weekend, I’m on the hunt for a perfect pair of shoes and earrings that aren’t overbearing. Pat is also building us a wedding website because I was looking at some to buy and he said, “I’ll build that in a weekend”. Because, you know, building websites to him is like curling my hair to me…just no big deal after years of practice.

The one task I am seriously not looking forward to: gathering addresses for invitations! I know I need to get on that but my address collecting procrastination skills are at an all-time high. I keep thinking, “I still have six months”. But then again, it feels like I was just saying that I had 18 months! Time is flying by! This spring and summer is going to go by in the blink of an eye between shooting weddings/engagement and getting all of our final details together.

I can say one thing though; this has been a really fun process. My bridal party is awesome and everything has been stress free thus far. Our next mission is planning our honeymoon. The funny thing about that is, I haven’t even been thinking about the honeymoon because there are so many other things to think about! When did picking out a color for napkins trump taking a trip to Europe? Oh, the life of a bride!

Here’s Pat’s photo of Big Ben when he was in London in 2007.
